Lately we've been hanging with Brent Hajek and his Fords at Bonneville and the Winternationals. We also had a chance to watch him do big, 7,000-rpm burnouts with this car, which is the one and only Bob Tasca-built '69 Super Boss. Starting with Ford's preproduction Boss 429 Mustang serial No. KK#1214, Tasca upgraded it with a 494ci, all-aluminum Can-Am race mill and a C6 because the four-speed stick couldn't handle the suffering. Larry Shinoda designed the paint scheme, which cost $3,400 in 1968, about the price of a new coupe. See Brent thrashing this rare treasure, live now at HOTROD.com.

Rumor has it that during the restoration, the aluminum Can-Am's displacement swelled to well over 500 ci. Aided by an 1150 Dominator, the even more Super Boss makes 735 hp.
