For handling prowess to match its power, the RS chassis underwent extensive modifications. The wheelbase and track grew to match that of the WRC competition Focus; front and rear suspension components were strengthened; springs were shortened and dampers stiffened.
Here's how it all turned out: According to a release (appropriately titled "Unleashed!") from Ford of Europe, the Focus RS accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 6.4 seconds, from 0 to 100 mph in 15.5 seconds, has a top speed of 144 mph, and pulled 0.94 g in "skidpan" testing. All available for just 19,995 British pounds, or about $32,400 in U.S. dollars. If you could buy one for U.S. dollars, that is.
